I know usually posting of test scores is frowned upon on this forum, however I wonder if this year it might be helpful?
Personally, the more information I can get about test scores the better.
Assuming DD has passed of course - still taking nothing for granted.

What does everyone think?

I agree it would be helpful, but the moderators will confirm.

Maybe we could give the range in which the total score fell I.e 400-423, 380-399, 360-379 etc rather than post actual scores?

I think then you lose the interest value of seeing if people have big discrepancies between the different scores or not, and if they were "expected" or not.

Quoting scores, however, is really only of interest if it goes along with something else to put them into context, e.g. NC levels so that one can see if children's NC levels did or did not go hand in hand with test scores.

I'm all for posting, fail and pass scores, whatever. No-one knows who I am (I hope). It's surely up to individuals if they decide to take part or read a thread. If people don't share fail scores too there's a learning experience gone.

I think it will be helpful.if you want to do,if you don't don't.i think as long as people are nice to each other during such a sensitive time.people do need to put thinks in perspective.we are all really lucky to have healthy children that could attempt such a test.i went to a grammar and it is just a school at the end of the day!my husband didn't, actually did not really try until 6th form has now got a professional qualification and a great job.his mum said it was awful when he failed but certainly has not held him back.this is not life or death.others have way bigger problems.but best of luck to everyone.i can only see bad news for us.....!

Like you say: nobody knows who we are or even what schools our DC attends, so i am more than happy to post... especially as this year it all seems so complicated!!!!

Its a long way off but in March it would be v helpful for others to know what score got what school.

Posting scores in some areas is irrelevant as all that is needed is a pass and if there are any oversubscription problems then it comes down to the distance - so people posting high scores often just look like they are boasting and making those have not got great news feel even worse...

In areas where the score does matter, then it is OK to discuss them but only if it is genuinely for advice / trying to assess where your child fits in the range etc - not just to boast!

In kent we have a mix of superselective, not superselective and partially non superselective so is that a yes then?

However, I do think that this approach overlooks the benefits of a greater understanding of scores in areas which are not superselective e.g. To dispel myths about what nc level you have to be, amounts of prep needed etc.

Yes, the discussion might be futile and some people might boast but maybe it could have a big health warning subject heading making clear it is a thread to be read and contributed to by consenting adults only.

Are we really anonymous? Have you ever met someone in this forum and become friends? If the children end up going to the same school, could you be "outed"?
