For context, Year 5 NC levels were 5b, 4a, 5b for Reading, Writing and Maths respectively. CAT scores done at the beginning of year 5 were 139, 141, 141. No formal tutor, we used a few Bond 10 minute tests and a GL practice test for familiarisation.
That sounds a nice effort free good score.

Tell us more what the cats were for. I was expecting a better correlation now between 11 plus and cats but on the basis of one, that does not seem to be the case. You did one gl familiarisation paper? How did you choose one out of 32 papers?! Which one did you go for?

I don't really know anything else about the CAT scores apart from what I've mentioned in my other posts, so tests for Quantitative, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning used by the school to advise whether children are suitable candidates. I just went for Variety Pack 1 for the GL paper.

Thanks. Would the numeracy skills test potential or attainment? Also, is it a maximum of 423 or 420 this year?

So, 140, for each subject? I see someone saying 141, 138, 141. Why would Maths have less points? It sounds strange.

Scores run from 69 to 141 in the maths and reasoning tests, and from 69 to 138 in the English. 420 is therefore the maximum standardised score any pupil can achieve.

We really need to know if the cats and 11 plus are standardised in the same way now. If they are, you might readonably expect two different gl assessment tests to give similar answers. But they don't.

Historically they did not appear to be standardised in the same way (at least according to information on a Kent eleven plus website). I think the CATs were supposedly on a steeper curve.

This year of course who knows?

Thanks for that Ladymuck. Sorry, it is English then that has a lower score. I still find it very odd. Does it mean they find it less important?
