I missed the Open day at school. Reviews that I read about the school are extremely encouraging. Could parents whose DD's are already in the school or who are looking at TGS as an option please share their feedback / opinion? It would be very helpful. Thanks.

We visited the open day and were very impressed. It's a very academic school but also has lots of extra curricular activities.
It has a real focus on languages and they do 3 languages from year 7. (including Latin which may not be everyone's cup of tea)
It's worth reading up on the International Baccalaureate as everything they do is based around that even from year 7.
We really liked it as it is a very rounded curriculum which will suit our DD but for some who are more specialist it might not be so suitable.

It's a shame that you missed the open day as I think you get a feel for the atmosphere of the school and whether it will suit your DD.
We thought it had a very calm and well organised feel to it and it was clear that they aim to excel in everything they do.
The girls all seemed happy and confident and the year 7 who showed us round has clearly settled in very quickly and was very well informed about the school.

The forms are called learning communities and include girls from years 7 - 9. I quite liked this as they arrange the forms based on home location so they will be with girls they travel to school with but I have heard that this can make it more difficult to make friends as they obviously don't then stay with their form for all lessons.

I hope some of that helps.
