Post by chimera-ma »

In case people haven't seen this yet, here is a link to the Admission to Secondary School in Kent 2016 booklet which explains application, offer and related procedures and includes specimen forms:

http://www.kent.gov.uk/__data/assets/pd ... -areas.PDF

Remember the Kent application deadline is 2 November 2015.

Why do you have a different CAF deadline from the rest of the country? Doesn't Kent do online submission?

31st October. It's a Saturday this year, I think, but given that nearly all applications to our LEA are made on line, I sort of assumed that they were everywhere else, so this doesn't matter.

Is there any difference between regions in the date Test results are notified to parents/carers? In Kent results will be emailed or posted on 14 October this year.

Yes as tests are taken at different times and go through different review processes. Kent takes longer due to the headteacher review process. I will get DD's Bexley result around 7th Oct and Bromley test result around the 12th of Oct. Unless a top scorer there is no guarantee of a place and oversubscription criteria come into play and for some schools it depends on distance so we really only find out for certain on 1st March.
