Tonbridge Grammar vs. Dartford Grammar (for girls)

Post by kent_mum »

Hello,

We visited both Dartford and Tonbridge grammar school (for girls) open days and came away liking both schools. Tonbridge seemed way better from an infrastructure perspective. However I noticed that the cultural diversity at Dartford was much higher than Tonbridge which left me wondering if Dartford would be a better fit. Would appreciate any thoughts / comments from any current or prospective parents if they considered diversity as a decision making factor

thanks

Perhaps you should post this in the Kent section?

Hi Kent Mum,
DD is at TOGS and is very happy there. She is lucky as they have quite a few new buidlings and facilities to enjoy. She has a mix of friends with a range of different cultural backgrounds and they get on very well. Sorry, don't know anything about Darford Grammar as it is a long way from where we live.

Does the distance make an issue? Which is nearer for you, easier on travel?

Which does your daughter prefer - its her that will be attending it, not yourself. I do find the happiest kids are those that are at the school they wanted.

ToGS will push your child if she wants it. If not then she may struggle. DGS is a little more diverse...
