Kent schools from Orpington - Judd, Skinners, Dartford?
DS has scored 417. We live in Orpington - OOC for Kent. St. Olaves will be one of the CAF choices, looking to finalise the CAF order among Super-selectives in Kent which DS can commute from Orpington (not looking to move). Looking for a high performace academic focus school. Any advice regarding Judd, Skinners, Dartford, others from Commute point of view? Should we be considering any other Kent schools? Thanks.

Judd is very close to Tonbridge Station, closer than Skinners is to TW. Tonbridge is also closer to Orpington by train.

Don't know where abouts in Orpington you are but one of the go-coach buses (402x) comes from somewhere around there straight through to Skinners/Bennett/twggs. Worth looking it up.

We are in the same boat as you, although not as high a score as your son. Well done!
Judd is probably easier if you are near a train station. Dartford and Skinners both have plus points and minus points for us. Getting to Dartford is probably easier as there is a dedicated school bus from the end of our road but if there are after-school activities, Skinners is probably easier as there is a regular direct train service to Orpington whereas Dartford would probably mean a parent pick up.
The 402X runs from Pratts Bottom, Knockholt, Halstead area I believe.
As for other schools, Wilmington is good and same bus as Dartford. Have friend whose son goes to Tunbridge Wells Boys Grammar School and he loves it. Same travel options as Skinners i.e. bus/train.
Hope that helps.
We have our 1st and 2nd choice sorted and fingers crossed that is all we will need although if there are too many other 417s out there with the same choice we may have problem! Then we are down to Skinners or DGS... the advice seems to suggest we will be OK but you can't help but worry.....
Cheers.

robbedyak - We are in a similar situation though not with a score as high as yours. Congratulations to your DC.
