Hi does anyone know what the pass mark was to pass the test in 2015? I know around 50% was required to pass, and it was 106 in each section, but I cannot find the raw scores for a pass in 2015.
If possible, it would be great if the different age groups can be included also please, thanks

To score 106 (a pass) in each paper:

A child aged 10 years 1 month needed

Maths 10/25
English 12/24
Reasoning 33/80

A child aged 11 needed

Maths 12/25
English 13/24
Reasoning 35/80

To score 138 in English, or 141 in the other papers (the highest marks possible):

A child aged 10 years 1 month needed

Maths 24/25
English 22/24
Reasoning 68/80

A child aged 11 needed

Maths 24/25
English 22/24
Reasoning 68/80

Thanks Susanass. That's very interesting. Does anyone know if the scoring has been pretty similar over the last few years or if it is likely to change significantly this year?

Wouldn't that depend on the mean(s) and standard deviation(s) of the cohort that has just taken the exam?

2014 and 2015 were similar but the year before the pass mark was very different. Those people who got 380s in 2014 were thinking they were in with no chance of a superselective place as in 2013 the required score had been 400 or similar, when in reality it had been a much tougher year so the bar had not come down but the mark required had. Come 2015 people realised that the scene had changed and so even with a lower score put down for a school that previously people had thought they had no chance and some were disappointed as the number of applicants was so high. So it has been a couple of volatile years.

Does any one know how many children gave the exam this year?

Mumsdarling2 - My ooc letter mentioned 4000 children taking it this year - I don't know if that is just the ooc figure though.

Have you quoted that from another website? I believe I recognise the format. If so they have the previous years' raw scores too.

What is the etiquette for citing information from elsewhere?
