Dane Court Grammar School v Chatham and Clarendon Grammar
Hi all,
I've been a lurker for while as we would like our son to take the 11+ test next year and would like some information regarding prospective schools.
The two Grammar Schools in our area are Dane Court and Chatham and Clarendon and we would like to hear the views from parents whose children attend these schools before making our choices all being well. You can only learn so much from the school websites or Ofsted reports so wanted "insider information" as it were. What are the ethoses of both schools? What do they specialise in? What do you think of the facilities? Which school is better for children with sporting ability? Which school is better for drama? Which school is better for science? What is the pastoral care like? What school has better extra-curricular activities?
Apologies for so many questions.

Re: Dane Court Grammar School v Chatham and Clarendon Gramma
Sorry I can't answer any of your questions very well as my daughter starts at Chatham and Clarendon in September
I've been told pastoral care is good and I hope it is
Sport from following the school on Twitter and Facebook they do well in Hockey and Rugby they also play cricket and do swimming
I believe Dane court is usually over subscribe where as Chatham and Clarendon isn't, don't know if that means anything it could just be that people prefer the big new build rather than the old buildings (which attracted my daughter, makes you think of Harry Potter in the dinner hall)
I can't compare the two schools as we didn't look at Dane Court as the journey to school wasn't easy as we come from Thanet side of Canterbury and chose Chatham and Clarendon over the Canterbury grammars
Good luck with Kent test and making your school choice
