2018 Raw Scores
I found last years thread on how raw scores related to standardised scores very interesting if anyone wants to add their scores.
My child was 10 years and 8 months when she sat the test.
Maths raw score 19 standardised score 127
English raw score 18 standardised score 113
Reasoning raw score 56 standardised score 124
total score 364

Re: 2018 Raw Scores
Mine was 10 years and 5 months.
English - 17 / 111
Maths - 13 / 113
Reasoning - 49 / 119
Total - 343 - we are in county and only needed a pass for our local grammars.
I thought he'd do better in maths - it's his strongest subject normally but the standardised score suggests it may have been a difficult test?
He told us on the day of the test that he thought he'd failed. That it was much harder than the practice papers - especially reasoning and that he didn't understand a lot of the paper. So we were expecting him not to pass. I almost cried when I got the email (but was in a meeting so couldn't!)

Those are interesting results for maths. Assuming it is out of 25 as it was last year, he only got 50% correct and yet 113 is a good solid pass, he didn't just scrape through.kjwesty wrote:Mine was 10 years and 5 months.

Re: 2018 Raw Scores
DD was 11
16/25? English = 107 (phew...)
17/25? Maths = 120
45/80? Reasoning = 114
Total 341
(Im guessing they were out of 25, 25 and 80 as previous years but don't know that).
She said English comprehension was hard but maths OK. But she had been much better at English previously (she got 80% in her last practice paper). School test had her English (or maybe it was VR?) at 120 and said she had a reading age of 13. Whilst maths has always been a bit weaker and I was very worried about at the start of summer when she was only getting a volatile 40-60% in practice papers (albeit this was up to 65-75% by exam time).removed by a moderator Bit disappointed with Reasoning. She was getting 70%+ in that and her VR was always pretty good.
She flunked the whole section apparently. So worth focusing more on that next time.
