Hi,

Does anyone know the catchment area (ie distance from school) for TGS (Tonbridge Grammar School)?

I feel sure the catchment will be in their admission criteria on the school website.

Hi Jasmine, welcome to the forum and the Kent section. As scary mum has said all the admissions information you will need is on the school's website and the KCC website is also very informative.

There are two types of Catchment for Tonbridge Grammar:
1) the top scorers in the defined parishes - as per the admissions document
2) Governor’s places - no distance or location criteria, purely top scorers

Governor’s places usually require a far higher score than the regular places.

PWF is right.

For the governors places, the cut-off marks last year are as follows.

We are OOC and my DD got 392. So, I contacted TGS regarding last year's cut off marks. Their answer was as follows.

2018 – intake of 180
1st round: 394
2nd round: 405
From Waiting List: 392

They also explained that the score rose from first round to second because of high-scoring late entries.
