Cut off for TOGs is 371 in area and 393 governors’ list. It’s on the website.

No need to be quite to confrontational Sparklecat. This is from Kent themselvesSparklecat wrote:According to another website, only 79.1% of children offered their first choice, the lowest figure for nine years. Those allocated a place they didn't request has risen from 2.7% to 4.7% in three years. If you have any better information, let's hear it.LocalTWmum1 wrote:On what basis can you possibly know that already?Sparklecat wrote:Looks like another tight year with lots of disappointed parents and children.

There is some information here https://kccmediahub.net/national-second ... r-day-3745" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
oops! Didn't spot your post doodles!More than 95% of children will receive an offer from one of their four preferences after more families than ever before applied for a secondary school place in Kent.
A total of 21,473 applications were received, up 3.58% on last year’s cohort, while the number of Kent applicants rose from 17,442 in 2018 to 17,959 this year, a 2.96% increase.
Yet despite these increases, the number of pupils getting a place at one of their first preference schools continues to increase.

Whilst you may be right, do you think that, on a day when emotions are high and parents are worried, this is a kind statistic to focus on? I think it probably isn't, and perhaps either try and be reassurring to worried parents, or say nothing if you don't feel you can do that?Sparklecat wrote:According to another website, only 79.1% of children offered their first choice, the lowest figure for nine years. Message from KCC to confirm the following for Judd and Skinners':
Judd In 376 Out 402
Skinners WK area 10.099 out 8.694 (Both +360)
Guess these must be distances? Why would the outer number be a smaller distance number than the WK area though?

The Skinners' figures will relate to distances but aren't much help without the scores. I assume that the distance difference is because of the shape of the WK area - there is a map on the Skinners' website - and the fact that the school is so close to the county border on the TW side.
The Judd information will be helpful to 11+2019.

It looks like they offered to everyone on 360+ within those distances?doodles wrote:The Skinners' figures will relate to distances but aren't much help without the scores.

I don't understand that. Sevenoaks is 14 miles from Tunbridge Wells. Does that mean that no children from Sevenoaks got offered Skinners despite it being in their designated area? Unless they are in care or have a sibling link that is.LocalTWmum1 wrote:Message from KCC to confirm the following for Judd and Skinners':

There's at least one Sevenoaks boy offered a place at Skinners'
Maybe the straight line distance reduces the actual on the road mileage?

Based in central Sevenoaks if anyone is trying to work out the catchment for Skinners'.

Interesting on the Skinners distances. Lots of sibling places perhaps?
