Re: Tonbridge to Wilson
Why?
There are so many good schools in-between, the grammars in Tonbridge itself, Dartford. I am probably equidistant travel wise between Wilson’s and Tonbridge. I did consider ToGS for DD as it is a fairly simple train journey from Orpington plus a walk but still 50 mins at best door to door, 1.5 hours on a bad timing or complicated day. She ended up at our local grammar 40 mins walk away.
Add in the distance and changes to get to Wilson’s and I can’t see how from Tonbridge it is remotely possible? It is an hour and a half on the train at best (often longer) and that excludes any walks to the station or school. So you are looking at possibly four hours a day commute, far too much. Any benefit of a good school would be more than wiped out by a tired child.
