Assuming it is for this October tests and you don't have another year, this is almost impossible to answer because:

- we don't know what priority your son might be on the admissions criteria (inner / outer areas, pupil premium etc)
- we don't know the competency of the rest of the cohort so your son will be compared with them
- we don't know how popular these schools will be and even when CAFs are submitted the public don't know how many applied for that year's intake until much later
- how comfortable your DS is in an exam environment and with distractions, it can make a big difference to some children

It sounds like he is doing well for a strong pass and if you are very close geographically to Skinners they only require 360 which recently has only been marginally above a pass.

Try and identify if there are always the same type of questions he is getting wrong rather than doing the whole test every time as this can help with spending less time but more effectively. Work on making sure he is ok with distractions, I used to vacuum around my daughter and tell her she wouldn't know if someone near her would have a meltdown, keep dropping their pen etc, so just get on with it! Good luck.

Distractions - that's an underestimated factor. Yes, who knows what they might have to cope with. Thats a good tip !

Yes I suppose Skinners focusses more on proximity to the school than Judd. Last year, I hear there were only a few points dividing skinners and Judd. We ve been focussing on weaknesses for a while now, but I also think its important to try the easier questions as through lack of practise, they may forget the more basic skills.

Will just have to keep on crossing my fingers! thanks for your response !
