Interesting, scores have been climbing generally the last few years but the gap between Dartford Boys and Judd for OOC cut off used to be significantly bigger. Despite its 90 OOC places Dartford is almost as hard to get into now, although one would expect Skinners' prioritising in-area boys to put more pressure on the Judd score. Increasing demand from London areas close to Dartford?

Morning all
and @pettswoodfiona and @sorrel do you believe if my son would have a chance in the waiting list for DGS for boys ?

His score was 400 and we're OOC.

hi, no harm going on the waiting list and after the second round of allocations you can ask the school where you are on the waiting list. Just from personal experience, in 2018 Dartford moved very little in terms of score - went down one mark and far from everyone on that score. It has a very high number of first choice applications and possibly a cohort less inclined to take up an indie place than schools in some other areas. But every year is its own situation so if you're still keen, do ask the school.

Very quiet on the results front for Kent...

Someone I was helping was offered a place at Dartford Boys Grammar with an OOC score of 407.

No idea about Dartford Girls as it was our second choice.

The cut off score for the 35th place Trustee (formerly Governor) places was a score of 398, with a tie break distance applied at 16.326 miles.

The Cut off score for the Area offers was 384, with a tie break distance applied at 7.351 miles.

Apologies if this is off-topic.

I have a question for someone who is outside the catchment, what does it mean by tie break distance:

(i) does it means that the cut off score for Trustee place is 398 and the pupil who is within distance of 16.326 miles

OR

(ii) The child scores (let's say 410) - in that case the catchment doesn't matter?

Tie-break distance applies where there are two or more on the same score. So those who on 398 and within the distance got the place. Someone (or maybe a few) who was further out on the same score didn’t. Any higher score would qualify for a place regardless of distance if in the same category (Trustee).
