Practice Tests

Post by yoyo123 »

I e-mailed Kcc and receives a very helpful reply.

children are asked not to mark papers but are given scrap paper to do working out. This would fit in with teh post which mentioned that children should use answer sheet and not reply on the paper.

Practice tests are commercially available (i.e. 11A, B,C, D) and
are intended to give each child an idea of the format and of the time limits which will be placed on them in exam conditions.

Schools are required to return all test papers to KCC for destruction

If they are going to restrict use of the question paper, at least they could give them a bit more than one sheet of scrap paper!

I think the one sheet of scrap paper rule has to be an invention of the school concerned. That really is not fair. Whoever does the exam administration at that school and sets that rule to the invigilators must be stupid, or anti academic selection except for those with small handwriting.

yesterday during the practice VR my son said they werent given any scrap paper to use. How shall I approach this with the school without becoming 'pushy mum'? I hope they get it for the maths today.... :x
