Dear members,

Please can someone upload Habbs Maths 2014 answers for 11+. I see that a member has asked about Q.28 but I'm very truly going to say that I've struggled with a majority! Maths isn't my forte and I'll be forever grateful. I have the following.
Q.1. 64
Q.2. 25
Q.3. 306
Q.4. 29
Q.5. 24,024
Q.6. 600
Q.7. 30
Q.8. £23.95
Q.9. 111kg
Q.10-Q.30 will be much appreciated.
Q.11. 14,12

You will get more help if you actually tell the wider audience what the questions are, possibly posting in 'Maths' rather than 'Independent Schools'.Maths teachers on the forum, particularly, will prefer to give hints as to how to get to the correct answer (which will help solve other questions of the same type :) ), rather than just give the answer.

Since there are so many, splitting them up into several posts would probably be a good idea, too.

The OP has given the question numbers, which appear to be a whole paper's worth. However, without the actual questions, potential helpers are restricted to those members who already have the relevant question paper about their person - which I doubt includes Guest55, who would be one of those best placed to offer assistance

Billypleasehelp, if you want a free maths paper complete with mark scheme, have a look at the Consortium of Selective Schools in Essex (http://www.csse.org.uk).

26. a. Fill in the table - 169 cm2
b. Connection between the areas of squares A,B and C - Pythagoras Theorem
c. Don't have the answer

CP

The answer for 24 b. needs to be 1:53 a.m on the 1st of October

26 b. connection between areas.................. = square numbers and area of A + area of B = area of C
(KS2 does not cover pythagoras so children are supposed to use what they have been taught in KS2)

26. c. 10 cm

26.
b. if you can see that the connection between the 3 areas is = square numbers then answer to part c. becomes easy

c -looking at the answers from part a it can be seen that
Area of square C = area of square A + area of square B
therefore area of 3rd square = 64 + 36 which is 100
so side of square is square root of 100 = 10 cm

27. question 1 - 2 hrs 15 mins

question 3 - 10 days

CP
27. question 1
is 90 minutes as each event is not dependent on anything else. All towels are drying independently of each other so time taken to dry remains the same

Sorry Curiousparent - just noticed some mistakes in the answers. Well done to your daughter if she got all the others correct

Answer to question 27a is actually 3 (not 4)

You go up 4 metres and slip back 2, to get to 2 in your first go
You go to 6 metres on your second go
On your third go you get to 8 (then slip back) but you still get there in 3
