DD worked out the answer to the following question:

It took her longer than I think she'll have in the exam and I was wondering if someone can give me an idea on how to encourage her to eliminate certain numbers instantly?

I'd look out more of these so she can practice them.
In the 100s column you have A, A and A - A has got to be 3 or less as there's no carry. So this has implications on B ...
Carry on like this eliminating digits.

Thank you as always Guest55! She isn't tutored and I am not very good at Maths so you can imagine the fun we have .
