Help with angles

Post by MCLC »

Hi,
can anyone help with the following?

What is the angle between the hour and minute hands of a clock at 6.30pm?

At what time between 6pm and 6.30pm will the hour and minute hands be exactly 125 degrees apart?

Thank you!

I'll start you on the first one - the minute hand is pointing at the '6', the hour hand is half way between the '6' and the '7'.

It should be - each section is 360/12 = 30 and you want half of this.

Now 6pm would be 180 degrees and you know 6.30pm is 15 degrees - try a few times between.
