My little one will be doing her 11 plus in September 2018 (god willing). Her examining board is GL Assessment.

Please could someone kindly advise a good website which has many questions in regards to percentages in 'Word Problem' format?

Do you just want the questions or for her to complete them online?

There are loads out there , although some are very American.

I usually google something like percentage word problems KS2 or Year6.

I am in England, Bucks. Preferably non-American version.

Sorry - why is this urgent? There are months to go and the test only covers Year 5 material, that is:

* recognise the per cent symbol (%) and understand that per cent relates to “number of parts per hundred”, and write percentages as a fraction with denominator hundred, and as a decimal fraction
* solve problems which require knowing % & decimal equivalents of ½, ¼, 1/5, 2/5, 4/5 & those with a denominator of a multiple of 10 or 25.

Is it the '%' bit or the 'problem solving' aspect?

Just do lots of talking about percentages in everyday life - look at "20% off" labels in shops, practice calculating VAT or the effect of a price rise, look at stats in the newspapers, ask what percentage of the pizza she would like - just make them as familiar as possible

Guest55 - You certainly know what your talking about whereas I'm new to this. Please guide me to Where I can find how much of a topic needs to be covered for the 2018, 11+ exam?

This would save me some serious time and effort.

I assume your going by a CGP 11+ Study guide or other?
