Mental Maths
I have DS that will be taking the 11+ this Sept.
I think his mental maths is a bit on the weak side as he resorts writing things down when it can be done in the head.
As a result, he loses some valuable time, sometimes.
Is there any books that I can that he can practice to boost this over the next coming months ?
I think he just needs the confidence to be able to do it in the head first

Re: Mental Maths
There are plenty of free websites or make it a game.
Game: Split a pack of cards into red and black - take one card from each pile and multiply, quickest correct answer wins.
Jack = 11, Queen = 12 and King = 13.
Example website: http://www.primaryhomeworkhelp.co.uk/maths/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
