Thanks Guest55 for your reply

Karen,Amrit and Sam are going to share two pizzas equally between them.
What fraction of a whole pizza should each of them have?
Options are
1/2, 3/4, 1/4, 1/3 and 2/3

Another question is in form of a picture. So not able to post.
Thanks

Question 9 (paper 6) asks which shape (from a list of 5) does not fit together with shapes of the same kind without leaving any gaps.

I think it is a tricky question for a 10 y/o TBH. The options are:
A. Equilateral Triangle
B. Scaline Triangle (possibly an Isosoceles)
C. Rectangle
D. Regular Pentagon
E. Regular Hexagon

Without going into the proof (that is far beyond KS2) the answer is D. When DS tried this question a couple of weeks ago he drew the shapes on a scrap paper to see if they would tessellate. He wasn't sure if D or E was the answer due to the accuracy of his drawing but that is probably the best approach at this age.

The wording of the pizza one is poor - its 1/3 of each pizza so 2/3 of a pizza altogether.

I've not been overly impressed with these papers. There are a couple of questions in paper 7 that are impossible (Parts of the question not printed - maybe a printing error?) and a few that are testing maths outside beyond KS2.

Given GL are the official test providers, I think this is poor.

but anyway - even two 1/3 pieces of every pica will make 2/3 of a whole pizza. This is maths, not culinary :D

I didn't see these papers, but some 11+ question looks like beyond KS2, but they are actually solvable using KS2 methods (or logic, or trial methods).
