Year 5 objective:
* recognise mixed numbers and improper fractions and convert from one form to the other and write mathematical statements > 1 as a mixed number (e.g. 2/5 + 4/5 = 6/5 = 1 1/5)

Year 6 objective:
* compare and order fractions, including fractions >1

I would guess this book is not in line with the new Maths National curriculum.

I would check that this is really needed for the 11+; it isn't where I live.

This is the info for SGHS exam:

scary mum wrote:Does this page help at all (Skipton us towards the bottom of the page)? Note this is from 2017, but hopefully someone local will be along to confirm. Is there nothing on the school's website?
Edited to add:
From the admissions booklet on the school website:
The School’s entrance tests are set by GL Assessment. Each applicant must sit three
multiple choice tests in: English, Mathematics and Verbal Reasoning.
*GL Assessment Practice Papers are available for purchase from reception and our open evening
events throughout the school year.
These are GL Assessment Papers and are copyright.
• The Mathematics paper is comprised of multiple choice questions.
• The English paper consists of two extracts with questions, plus questions which may include
spelling, punctuation and grammar. All questions are multiple choice.
• The Verbal Reasoning paper is comprised of multiple choice questions.

Ripon Grammar's test doesn't include maths at all.
Neither of the Calderdale schools' tests include improper or mixed fractions.
Skipton Girls' test doesn't include improper or mixed fractions.

Which Yorkshire test does include them?

Anyway

My daughter on her way back from school yesterday showed me how to do mixed numbers and improper fractions.
Bless her, she already knew that
I was panicking for nothing

Thanks who helped as it was helpful for me. :P

I couldn't find any detailed guidance on their test, hence my omitting them from my post. Their website is vague on the content. What information do you have on it?
