Thirty-six posts were spaced evenly along a road that was 1.575km long.What was the distance in metres between each pair of posts?

I have divided 1575m with 36 for 43.75
But the answer is 45

might be worth you drawing it out to work out how many gaps there are - remember that with a fence there are always one fewer boards than there are posts.

Just got it now the last post won’t be counted to mark the distance so there will be 35 posts so 1575/35=45

Agree that diagrams are useful in questions like this.

Just a tip though, it is not necessary to draw out all 36 posts, which might be a bit laborious. Drawing just 3 or 4 posts should be enough to prove the point that there are 1 less panels than posts.
