Jon has 30% more money than Migueland altogether they have £46. Calculate how much money Jon has.

I would do it like this.
If Jon has 30% more than Miguel, Jon has 130 where Miguel has 100.
Together they have 130+100=230.
£46.00 / 230 shares means that each share is 20p.
Jon had 130 shares so has 20p X 130 =£26.

X+1.3x=46.00
2.3x=46.00
X=46/2.3
X=20
If x=20, 1.3x=26
