Transformations In CSSE Paper
Does anyone know if these questions: rotations around a point, reflections etc have come up in recent tests?
We have been doing a bit of revision on these but not sure if it's more a KS3 topic.
Thanks

It's come up in a couple of mocks he's done, that's why I was enquiringSurferfish wrote:I thought that was more KS4/GCSE level?

Yes, but mock providers like to scare people into believing that a far higher level (of knowledge) is required than just being in the top x percent of the ability range.RedDevil66 wrote:It's come up in a couple of mocks he's done, that's why I was enquiringSurferfish wrote:I thought that was more KS4/GCSE level?
If it's any help, when DS2 sat the exam for 2014 entry, although he had actually attended year 7 maths lessons at one of the local grammar schools for the whole of year 5, he reported that there was nothing on the CSSE maths paper that required knowledge of anything that he had been taught in those lessons. His '11+tutoring' had consisted of doing a few past papers, plus some tests in a Letts Maths and English workbook I found on Chelmsford market.

TBH I've not been impressed with a lot of mock test providers. Seems like they cut and paste from old level 6 SATS papers/GCSE style exams etc.
