Hi. I would suggest you give the school a ring, they will be able to give you a guide. It's usually around the 230 mark but obviously varies year on year. Last year went down to 223 (that I am aware of anyway, maybe even lower?).
Best of luck, I was at the application stage last year and know how very tough and stressful it all is. However, hand on heart, it was worth every tear, frustrated moment and increased alcohol intake! When my Son put his uniform on and went to catch the school bus in September, I was the proudest Mum. He loves Kings.

X

Hi LoobyLoo

Aw your son .. that is a lovely thing. I'll call the school and ask like you say

I did the CAF online and have checked a couple of times to make sure our first preference didn't slide down into position two, me anxious nah  We are ooc and I only wanted to put Kings on the CAF but was told that I ought to put an alternative..just in case?

Thanks for replying and I am really pleased to hear that your son is loving Kings xx

Thank you. You're not alone, I checked, double checked, triple checked - I'm sure the number of website hits increased just because of me, so anxious to make sure I'd done it right!! We're in Newark, so having to apply via Notts CC for a place at a Lincs school just added to my concern that our application would even be received!!

Personally, we did put another school, two reasons really. We didn't want our catchment school and whilst his score was over the magic 230 number, I still flapped that ours would be the one year that everyone passed, lots of really high scores etc. shouldn't have worried but we do don't we?!!

Very best of luck x

That makes me feel better Loobyloo, whilst not applying for Kings, I have checked my application 3 times and am just about to do a final check. Like you, I have to apply to Notts CC. My concerns over communication between counties, has been enhanced by the fact that after we won our appeal for DD at a Lincs school last year, her place at the allocated school in Notts had not been withdrawn, even though I had contacted both counties who assured me it would all be sorted. On transition day (which she didnt attend) she had been placed in a form and everything :? I do like your comment about the tears etc being worth it, I felt exactly the same when DD put her blazer on and hopped on that bus in september. Good luck CW, time to try and relax now x
