In my area (Bham/Walsall) it is only commonplace for the main feeder comp to come into state primary. Tgis has just happened at my DS school and there were about a dozen not going to that comp who sat out of tge session.
As grammars and comps offer induction days that's fine, but tough on some kids who werw allocated failing non feeder school comp. Fair for GS though as there is no catchment in our LA.

In Bucks most Grammars do try to visit Primaries and often have a team doing it owing to the number of schools sending pupils.
I'd ring the school to fnd out as sometimes it is hard to find a date that suits.
