A week and a half until the results....time is dragging

Dd hoping to pass the 11+ to go to KGGS. She thought the tests went well but my pessimistic side knows that even though she thinks she puts down the right answers, she may well not have :? I am 50/50 if she has passed or not although based on previous practice papers etc, she should have passed. Dd keeps talking about when shes goes to KGGS and I don't know whether to point out that she might not, or whether to be positive like her. Feel a bit more pressure as Ds is thriving at Kings School - absolutely loves it and we want the same for Dd. Anyway, must stop overthinking and go and distract myself.

She's already taken the test so there's nothing to be gained now by 'staying positive'. If you think there's a chance she hasn't passed (and there's always a chance for every child) you should try to make sure she's prepared for different outcomes. Which school will she go to if she doesn't pass? Hopefully you'll already have spent some time talking about how good that school is and how well she'll get on wherever she goes - reinforce this now so if the outcome isn't good on results day you've got some positives to fall back on.

She seems happy enough when we talk about the alternative school - she has got lots of lovely friends going there, amongst other things. But she still does keep talking about when she's at KGGS and I feel really mean to keep pointing out that she might not be!

I suppose the question is, what is worse?

There's not much lost if she ends up going to the GS - she won't remember that you kept pointing out that she might not make it. But if she doesn't get in she'll be devastated, so the more you've prepared the ground, the better, I think.

Thanks Streathammum, yes you are completely right. I think I will start bigging up the alternative tonight as I probably haven't done it enough.

It’s eating inside me with the waiting , and worst of all that I would not be getting the results, as the real wait is until 1st March! Oh well, we have given our best shot , as DS has prepared so well and finished both tests in time. He has now moved on and got busy with after school activities, homework and PlayStation. It’s only me fretting !

I hate that the postal delivery is awful in our area. We never get deliveries on a Saturday, so goodness knows when the results will actually arrive! Does anyone know when the primary schools get the results?

A prolonged wait  That is awful Pluto! According to the KGGS website Primary schools get the results on Monday the 16th but I was told by other mums they actually get them on Friday 13th. Don't know how true that is. Good luck when you do eventually find out x

Ah right. I’ll ask about that then. I have the benefit of working at the school my son goes to, so I’ll see if I can get the results ;-)

I know it's pointless thinking about this now and I know the marks are standardised but what % mark do you think will be a pass this year?
