Does anyone know what tests etc. are required for a child wishing to enter year 9. The child has not previously sat an 11 plus paper. Also has anyone had a child enter the school in year 8-11? How did they cope when majority of the other boys others had already established themselves?

The school uses "nationally standardised tests" for entry into Y 8 upwards. These used to be CATS but I don't have any recent experience to know if this is still the case. There are always a few starters and leavers over the years and most seem to manage fine. For the majority of year groups you would probably still have to go through an appeal for a place as they are likely to be up to or over PAN. The school are generally very helpful if you ring and ask questions.
