Chatham Grammar School For Boys - Appeals

Post by PumpLaneDad »

Is anybody else here involved in the shambles that's the Appeals process for Chatham Grammar School for Boys this year ?

We had our Appeal on the 22nd June and we were subsequently informed that half-way through the Appeals process on the following day an objection was raised by a Parent concerning the impartiality of one of the Appeal Panel members - this has caused the whole process to be scrapped and it's currently planned to be re-started around the middle of July.

I believe the current planned date for the Results of the Appeals will be the 20th of July, which means the Children that are successful will miss the full Induction Day and will probably not get an Induction Day at all.

hi
Im not involved in this but am so sorry for all those ds's and families having to wait even longer! What a shambles. Wishing you luck, my dd knows boys from the school and they do seem very happy there so i think it will be worth the wait :)

Sorry that your boy, if successful, won't have the induction day. Maybe they would let you take him in to meet the tutor etc. before they start in September?

We had an unusual notice from my son's primary school the other day - stating that 'Chatham Grammar School still has places available if you wish to apply'. This would be assuming I guess that the Medway test had been sat and passed - but I would think that if they are currently 'advertising' their vacancies at primary schools some 20 miles away, that this will bode well for any of the appeals that have a good case!
