Hello my friends son has missed the pass mark by 1 point. My friend is seeking advice about appealing as she would like him to go to Rochester maths with his brother. However she has been told that the school take from the highest mark and work down till they fill their places at usually about 525-530. So even if they did pass him he would be unlikely to get a place. Is this the case? Thanks

Looks like distance rather than score is the deciding factor - also siblings have priority (have to pass though). Your friend needs to look at the appeal information and read the FAQ http://www.elevenplusexams.co.uk/appeals" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Deffo need to be armed with the right info - if she reads the FAQ and has any questions then get her to register and ask any questions on the appeals section.
