Does anybody know the cut off point for scores by RGS?

Last year the cut off was 530 my daughter got 544 and just been offered a place. I did infact phone the secretary and asked her before viewing the school if my daughter had a chance of being offered a place and they replied that they had not taken anyone with that score, so we looked at it and my daughter loved it.

cut off point was 543 this year, i think.

Hi, I'm new to this forum, and my daughter is due to sit the 11+ this year. However, my daughter's school comes under Kent, and she would like to go to RGS (for its music specialist status), so she will have to take both Kent and Medway tests. I know that RGS takes from highest scores, but I do not understand what the figures quoted on this site represent. How do you end up with a score of 540 for example?
Also, I think the Verbal reasoning and the Maths is the same as Kent, but don't really understand what the extended writing paper involves. Is it always the same format? Is some of it double weighted?

Thank you very much for your advice Belinda. Its all a bit of a minefield really isn't it. I do intend (provided she passes the tests!) to put down RGS as my first choice, then the two Kent Grammars. I understand the order shouldn't be taken into account any more, but somehow it still is! Ah well, back to the revision!

Thanks for your reply. My Kent primary school, although close to the Medway border have never had anyone take the Medway test before, so, as I find out information I am informing the Headteacher!
Incidently, I am an ex-Rochester Grammar School girl myself, although it was a very long time ago, when we used to have to walk up and down the road between the old and new schools, and ignore the Maths school boys on the other side of the road!

Dont panic too much about the scores though Orangebear, as historically RGS's lowest pass mark for entry to them is only usually between 15 - 40 points above the actual pass mark.
I think that as long as your child is not a 'borderline pass' she should be fine. I know some schools take very high scores only and RGS isn't one of them.
