Sorry to hear the some of the results aren't as hoped, but these are only indicators.

You need to work on the areas of weakness now and make sure your dc's are thoroughly aware of exam techniques.

They've had a run through practice, they know there's nothing to be scared of, they can be confident now and go and do it!!

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for disappearing after setting off the thread. Some promises to keep for DD after getting 175.8214 in the Pre-test. I personally think she did really well !!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the children that didn't do well, but DON'T GIVE UP.........

Never could understand how they standardise the score, Maybe someone could explain.

Kind Regards

hope the postman gets there tomorrow! Few years back the post office was on strike and we all had to queue up at the education offices (if out of catchment kids) complete with ID to collect "the big brown envelope" !!!

Fingers crossed here too! :D

edited to add:
A member has given me the following information from the pre-test 2010:
732 children sat the pretest

Highest scoring 25% of candidates: 209.9668 to 164.4158
25% to 50% : 164.1403 to 149.8648
50% to 75% : 149.8214 to 135.5893
Lowest scoring 25% of candidates : 135.5461 to 94.4440

Judging by previous standards in the grammer schools' admissions tests, the range of scores on the Pre-test likely to result in the offer of a grammer school place on the basis of VR and maths alone would be 209.9668 to 163.0535.
