Hi, I wondered if I could ask your opinions on whether it is worth appealing to get into Ermysteads. Our son did really well in the tests but was offered his second choice of school and is quite upset about it and he says he doesnt want to go there, its quite upseting as obviously all this is out of our control! I checked the postcode measurement on this site http://www.education.gov.uk/cgi-bin/iny ... e2=bb8+7ae
and it comes up with a distance of 8.6 miles, I know the score was low this year compared to previous years and just wanted to know whether all of you think it would be a complete waste of time appealing. Our boy loves mathematics and science and I just feel that that school would be able to offer him so much more as I am sure he will end up with a career in one of the sciences.
We are only just thinking about it at this stage because I dont want to stress him out, Im not a pushy parent but I am wondering if now is the time I should try to be pushy and appeal because I really do think it would make a big difference in his education as they specialise in science there. Has anyone any advice please or past experience? thank you
