look weather is grim oooop north today - have been through very soggy roads between Skipton and Clitheroe and there ain't a daffodil in sight.

It was never horrible weather in Peak Practice or All Creatures Great and Small unless the plot demanded it. I think you are imagining it.........!
Re: Is Kirkby Stephen Grammar not a selective grammar?
Lots of lovely daffodils in Harrogate - come here, then I can snap up all the beautiful Dales houses (well, one anyway)!
Re: Is Kirkby Stephen Grammar not a selective grammar?
If you sell up in Harrogate you could probably afford a small island off the Caribbean!! Looked there, wee bit pricey - is it Betty's???
Re: Is Kirkby Stephen Grammar not a selective grammar?
Ilkley is also not cheap and they have a Betty's too.
Harrogate is one place I don't think I could live, but then my brother does.

Maybe we have moved on from the Waitrose Effect (we have one of those ) to the Betty's Effect!
Re: Is Kirkby Stephen Grammar not a selective grammar?
The only Bettys effect we notice is the 18 months worth of DD bring home bread, cakes and biscuits - that's how long she's been working there and it's done my waistline no good at all

Ah, not good! But on the good side, do you get a discount?
