Hi is anyone else's child sitting any of the pretests for calderdale? Ds is mainly to get him used to the exam conditions but wondered from previous years how significant the pretest results are?

The official pre-test (run by NHGS PTA) gave fairly good feedback but even then, there would have been a good deal of leeway. Unfortunately the official pretest is no longer running and the alternatives are private mocks.

If you feel the need to do private mocks then I would only use them as a means to get a little practice under exam conditions and I would give little or no significance to the results.

Thanks mitasol, I only put ds in for the private ones to get him used to exam conditions so will just use it for that rather than taking too much from the score, it's a shame they stopped doing the official pretest!
