Results for EGS are out today. Delighted to say that 2nd and final DS has just received confirmation that he has passed. I've been very quiet on here this year, but that in no way reflects the amount of continued support I've had from this site - it's a constant source of strength.

A run down of the stats:

Cut-off - 218
In-catchment pass - 40
Out-of-catchment pass - 67
Total number of places available - 112

So, it looks like there are places for everyone who has passed this year, and still a few places available for September.

Huge congratulations to all of those boys and relieved parents who have passed.

I so love those years when they can offer to all who have passed - (providing of course that there aren't massive numbers of successful appeals)

There will be some appeals, plus people who were ill on the day and have late results, but then not everyone will take up their place. Hopeful that everyone who passes gets a place. It would be so unfair to go through all that stress and hard work and not be offered one.

I expect it will balance out - there will be some opt to go elsewhere, particularly of they are actually quite a long way away
