Gcse pass rates for other schools they hardly compare

You have to remember that the GS have creamed off a large proportion of those who will be higher attaining GCSE students. It really is not fair to hold the other school to the same standard their students are mixed ability. I am certain that the non-selective school will be pushing all the students to achieve appropriate levels at GCSE.

I hope so. Obviously choosing a non GS school has made me look at performance tables. I was just a little surprised that the GCSE pass rate falls hugely, but certainly I take on board they have children of mixed ability.
I was just looking for some reassurance I guess. Not been in this boat before!

If you take a small percentage of the population that has been proved to do well in exams (11plus), it is no surprise that they will continue to do well in exams (GCSEs). Have a look at the progress 8 figures or the attainment of the top cohort of the school, based in KS2 results.

Look at the 2017 data by prior attainment; you often find the data for the more able is similar in a comp. 2018 data is not released in enough detail yet.
