AGGS distance

Post by Trafford32 »

How far out do AGGS offers go in recent years?

We live just over 5 miles away.

The website states that last year they gave offers about 6 miles out. But what it doesn’t say is whether that was based on distance or some other criteria (for example sibling).

We don’t fall under any other criteria other than distance, so just trying to get an idea of chances of AGGS.

It will be on distance. I think you'd have got a place for the last few years at @ 5 miles.

2016 entry – 11.77 miles

2017 entry – 6.025 miles

2018 entry – 11.18 miles

2019 entry – 8.478 miles

2020 entry – 6.788 miles

Thanks for reply. I thought those distances from previous years might include siblings who got a place not on distance.

Are you in or out of the catchment?

In catchment. Catchment is 8 miles. We live just over 5 miles.

But the places fill up before 8 miles each year - so catchment area doesn’t seem to matter very much.

I think they'd tell you if you asked but you'll need to word your question as a freedom of information request.

Example:
For each of the past 5 years, what was the furthest distance of a child offered a place under each of the oversubscription criteria.
