I regularly see messages on here asking for tutor recommendations for Entrance Exams, Maths, English etc.

We have a really good tutor who does all these so I have passed her details on to many people by PM. Most haven't replied to me and speaking to the tutor it seems none of them have ever contacted her.

I just wondered why people are asking for recommendations but don't seem to take them up. Any thoughts?

Not sure why you are concerned this tutor isn't getting any of your recommendations and how do you know she isn't? People use different usernames to their real names!
FWIW we were given a recommendation for a 1:1 tutor but heard mixed reports so didn't pursue her.
Also just because one person likes a tutor it doesn't necessarily mean they're the best for someone elses child.

I'm not seeking to promote any particular tutor. I'm just a bit baffled as to why people ask for recommendations but then don't seem to pursue it - even as far as contacting the tutor to ascertain exactly what they offer and if the tutor would suit them.

The tutor I recommended actually asks people who come to her where they heard of her or who recommended them to her. As nobody has ever mentioned this forum to her I guess nobody bothers to take up recommendations given on the forum.
