Passes at both Sale and Stretford for us too.

Really pleased especially after failures at AGSB and Urmston.

Now comes the tricky part. Which school is the better and where will he have a better chance of getting in especially as we live some distance from the school.

A pass for Sale for DS too, will be taking the AGSB though because it's more local. Just waiting for St Ambrose now- seems like they did that exam months ago!!
Well done to the other DC's xx

Yey!
DD passed Sale by a decent margin!
She is over the moon, off for a celebratory coffee and cake..

[Will start fretting about the how-much-over-pass-mark-to-get-in-outside-catchment thing later.. ]

Well done, countrymum's DD and everyone else who passed, too..

Can somebody please reassure me regarding the kids IN the area? If my son had passed Alty and Sale does it guarantee us a place ?

Agsdad- same for us and was just wondering the same thing?? it seems like there are loads more passes at DS's school this time so just wondering if we will have a place. We live in Trafford and are about 2 miles from AGSB and 5 miles from Sale. x

In catchment children who pass Sale usually get in.

If you're in catchment for AGSB you will get a place. If you're out of catchment then it goes to ranked scores (I can't tell from your distance because we are 2 miles from AGSB but OUT of catchment, just).

If you pass for Sale and are in catchment you would usually get in.

If you're in WA14 or WA15 or selected M33 you've probably got a choice.

But so many more had passed this year, do in area boys always have a priority over out of catchment boys in Alty?
Or do they have set quotas for each category?
