In year intake for AGGS
Hi
Please can anyone help.
What are the chances?
Has anyone been offered a place in year 8 at AGGS after completing in year entrance exam and passing. Do they have places? Do they send you result ASAP?
Thanks

Re: In year intake for AGGS
I know of at least one girl leaving Altrincham Girls in yr 8 , however classes are already at 30-31 so the school may want to equalise the class sizes.
I would imagine they would examine using yr 7 end of year exams and work out what level your child is at , most girls at the end of yr 7 are already at high level 6 or 7,some at 7a at core subjects(that's the max they can go to since they have not done the theory to level 8 ) this is at secondary school levels not primary levels.
also your child will need to do 2 out of 3 languages Spanish and French are somewhat over subscribed so say your DD wants (is mad keen on) German and either Spanish or French, even if she is not keen on German a bit of basic prep will be enough for her pass(she can always drop it and do one of others for GCSE)
but apply with "eyes wide open" the girls are competitive and the parents even more so.
good luck
