AGSB in year application

AGSB in year application
Hi, does anyone have any information on in year applications for AGSB? DS is currently year 8 & wants to have a go. School said exam is in Feb but not much else. I know they sit English, maths & presume the language they're already studying. Any advice on whether many apply and whether many are accepted etc?
