In the admissions policy of Altrincham Grammar School it refers to a standardisation of results to be shared among the schools, can you clarify what is meant by this please?

Does indicating we want standardisation on the application form mean all the Trafford grammar schools will consider her if she was not to attain a place at Altrincham? Does standardisation have any negative implications for her first choice being Altrincham Grammar School?

Results are standardised by age, so your DD will get a raw score on the test, and then when you receive the results, you'll get a score which is the standardised score for her age.

You can normally choose which schools you want to consider her results - you can tick all 4 of them (AGGS, Sale, Stretford and Urmston), or the particular ones you want. You will get a separate results letter from each school that you tick (the score will be different for each school even though its the same test as they will standardise it differently). You get those letters 2 or 3 weeks after the exam usually.

You then have a few weeks to decide which school is your first choice (and submit your form) - the fact that you'd previously asked for your daughter's score to be shared with all 4 schools for instance does not make any difference to your preference being AGGS.
