Format of exam papers

Post by WirralCat »

I understand that the Exam paper for WKGS is 2 x 1 hour papers, and each paper has all of the three topics in.

Is anyone able to tell me any more? How many questions in each paper, is there an even split of questions for each of VR, NVR and Maths? Are they scattered around or in separate sections (I thought I'd seen something about timed sections- does that mean you have to move on at that stage), are both papers effectively the same?

If you can make sense of that, thank you!

Thank you. Yes, that's where I'd seen the reference to "timed sections". Not quite sure what it means though! Self timed or you have to move on?

There are two papers, each of which has a section on maths, VR and non-VR. I don't know what order they are in, but they are timed, i.e. after 15/20 mins or whatever they have to finish one section and move on to the next, and no going back if you have spare time at the end. I don't know the number of questions but I think it's intended that most children will not finish everything.

Happy to help. At least that's how my DD described last year's test.
