Hi

I'm really surprised this year that no one has been on the site to say how their DD and DS go on this year.

Hope everyone is happy with their school choices

Very happy indeed. Thanks for asking! Son got a place at Wirral Grammar. Need help now finding a really good school for his brother who will be in Year 5 in September. Moving back to the area in the summer from Cambridge. Any advice?! :(

Hi Mcole

Great news you got the school you wanted, must of been hard having to apply so far away.

I live in Heswall so can't help you with the school for your youngest sorry.

I think if you spend time with him and he has the ability he will do well. Alot of people have tutors I never bothered my girl did really well on her own only having a few practice papers I bought from my local book shop a month before.

This year no one seems to have shared how they got on which is a little sad.

Hi,
Joined to say my daughter did well and got into Wirral Grammar.
Scored well with no tutoring (other than myself).
I thought the 'score' was 280 max - which I thought was 140 each? She scored 141 in one of them. :?
Very scary moment opening the letter together and a great scream when she read it. :D
She had convincer herself she had completely messed up the first paper and failed.

There has been some shock results from friends, children who you would never have expected to pass the Upton exam, passed by a country mile and have chosen the grammar school and other children who seemed dead certs have failed.

Hi,

Just thought I would let you know that the max score is 280 ( 140 on each ) but if they score 140 they get a bonus point hence the 141 or 281 score if they score 140 on both papers they then get a total of 282 :D

My DD passed for Wirral with a score of 268 :D
