Has anyone heard anything about the plans to have a different system for high school entry in Sept 2013? There is a rumour that kids will take the 11+ in September and then we make the application after we get the results. Not sure about the St Anselms and Upton exams. I think it is a better system but wonder when we are going to be told officially. Is it just a rumour or do people know for certain?

This appears to be correct according to the WGG website and what a step forward it is in my opinion, fantastic news especially for borderline pupils.

Yes I agree it is a better system and will be less stressful for children. Next stage...get rid of the old fashioned and unfair 11+ system altogether!

Well as the victim, I mean pupil of the comprehensive system we may have to agree to disagree there but definitely a good thing for my family so we are pleased.
All the best to you and yours
