NEED SOME ADVICE
We are returning from living abroad in december and have a son who will need to go to secondary school. He has always been in the top 2 of his class both abroad and back on the wirral and we would like him to Caldy or one of the other Grammar schools.
What are his options, he has not done the 11+ but could he sit it at a later date
thanks

This is one of those questions that need to be directed to the admissions officer at Wirral LEA.
You don't say how old your son is.
If he is required to sit an entrance test based on the current criteria then it would be worth preparing him for two verbal reasoning tests that have 80 questions to be completed in 50 minutes.
The test is provided by NFER therefore their papers are worth purchasing, also IPS material is good in that it is structured around the NFER content.
The advantage that you son will have in taking a late test is that the structure of the paper will be known. There is a contradiction in what Wirral schools suggest as practice material and the familiarization packs that are sent out to parents.
