Am I right?
Am I right that for Wirral the pass mark is 85% so on each paper you can only get 12 out of 80 wrong? DD has done a short 20 min test tonight of 30 questions. She got 24 right which seems pretty good but it's only 80% isn't it and therefore not enough. It all seems so demoralising - to get so many right but still fall short of the standard required.
Hi Kittyhola
The passmark on Wirral has always been 236
this equates to 84%- highest score is 282
you need to get 236 over the 2 papers
if your DD is a July b'day she will get some standardised points so 80% is probably very close! There is a link to a standarised table on this site to make it clearer!

Hi Pensby and thanks for reply. I did know about the scores, I just didn't know how low we could go percentage wise with a July birthday. 80% sounds good at the moment! If she can just get a few more right we could be more comfortably around the 85% mark. Ironically her sister took the test last Dec and flew through it getting the magic 282. I feel like we're scrabbling round at the other end of the spectrum now.
