Is anyone's daughter sitting this exam? It's a non verbal reasoning test which is a blow as we have been practicing verbal for 10 months now! If anyone is sitting it, what practice papers are you using? The weird thing is it's not even a question of doing your best as there are 5 ability bands which they are going to randomly select from after musical ability and sibling connection places have been accounted for! so even if your DD does brilliantly there is no guarantee at all she will be one of the 10 selected for her band. A massive lottery but we didn't like our local high school.

Going to look round tomorrow with view to having it as our fall back.

The school office are happy to send out sample papers if you give them a ring (0151 652 5777).

The exam was never the same as the 11+ it required skills not tested in the local 11+ format in addition to a verbal reasoning test.
